Now possible for all electric car owners: storage-based fast charging with renewable energy at the technology campus in Teisnach

Significant progress was achieved as part of the OMEI (Open Mobility Electric Infrastructure) research project: the recent commissioning of a charging park at the technology campus in Teisnach now enables storage-based fast charging of electric vehicles with a predominant share of renewable energy. Using the demo system at the technology campus in Teisnach, valuable charging, user, energy and traffic data can now be collected and integrated into a common concept. If you drive an electric car, you can now charge up at the fast charging stations and thus make an important contribution to the project and the energy transition!

The battery storage provided by Fenecon serves as a flexibility instrument for temporarily storing and shifting renewable energies. At the same time, it reduces the network load. The 6 fast and normal charging points from the manufacturers Alpitronic and Technagon are provided by the project partner Mer Germany. To ensure coordinated interaction between the installed components, a coordination center was set up that is equipped with modern data processing components. The specially equipped multifunctional cabinet plays a key role in the transmission path to the servers. Together with an industrial computer and weather station receiver, the system receives its artificial consciousness and can continuously collect data. This enables efficient data collection and control. The interaction of storage, charging points and communication and control units now forms a demonstration system that is used to research the optimal operating mode of battery storage in combination with fast chargers and other network services.

This development not only promotes electromobility in Teisnach, but also collects valuable data in order to develop future control and operating strategies. The project consortium is therefore looking forward to as many visitors as possible charging their electric vehicles there.
